    The Hurricane WRF Tutorial was held at the Taiwan Typhoon and Flood Research Institute (TTFRI) National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs), Taipei, Taiwan on 22-23 May, 2014. This was a two-day event organized by the Developmental Testbed Center (DTC), the NOAA Environmental Modeling Center (EMC), the NOAA Hurricane Forecast Improvement Program (HFIP), TTFRI/NARLabs, and the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).     The Hurricane Weather and Research Model (HWRF) is a tropical cyclone research and forecast model suitable for all Northern hemisphere basins. Tutorial participants can expect to hear lectures on various aspects of the HWRF model, including model physics and dynamics, nesting, initialization, post processing, and vortex tracking. Practical sessions will give tutorial participants hands-on experience in running HWRF.

    Dr. Robert Gall, the development manager of the Hurricane Forecast Improvement Program (NOAA), was having an opening speech for the HWRF tutorial.

    The tutorial lecturers came from the Hurricane Task Lead, Developmental Testbed Center, (NOAA) and provided informative and interesting lessons.

    Nearly 50 local and oversea participants attended the two-day program.
